  • Taking a village walk or hike with our Resident Naturalist to better understand Hecla's Icelandic history
  • Hunting for fossils in the limestone cliffs at the Quarry picnic site
  • Hiking the Black Wolf trail and and learning all the interesting facts that you may have not known about these magnificent, but elusive creatures
  • Cruise the scenic historic driving tour through the Hecla Village
  • Climb the wildlife viewing tower nearby and be on the lookout for Moose and other wildlife that call Hecla Island home
  • Discover Manitoba's oldest lighthouse at the end of the spit jutting into Lake Winnipeg at Gull Harbour
  • Hike the Grassy Narrows Marsh trails and watch for wildlife from blinds and towers

This 18-hole championship course will challenge your skill while creating unforgettable memories with its majestic views of Lake Winnipeg.

Mature elm, ash, birch and spruce trees line the fairways and the course is blessed with generous bunkers and natural water hazards. The golf course features a driving range, putting green, rental clubs as well as lessons with our CPGA professional.

Hecla Oasis Adventures

Take a walk on the wild side and explore Hecla Island with the help of our friendly guides. Enjoy a guided walk, after dark adventure or learn to identify the birds and other flora and fauna that make the island special. The fun does not stop with snowfall. Head out on snowshoes or cross country skiis, listen for owls under a brilliantly starry sky or learn about the local traditions and history.

With an indoor waterslide and indoor/outdoor pools for both adults and children, the Hecla Oasis Water Park is a true oasis for the whole family! The water park is complimentary for all guests and is open seven days a week from 9:00am to 11:00pm unless otherwise posted. The water park is subject to close for inspection, maintenance and cleaning at any time. Pool rules are listed in the water park facility.

The Oak Hammock Marsh Interpretive Centre is located 20 minutes north of Winnipeg on highway 67 between highways #7 and #8.

Just look for the Narcisse Snake Dens sign on Highway #17, six kilometres north of Narcisse. Turn east at the den sign and follow the short road
